Podcast Network

Studio / Field Producer

Handle the technical side of interviews, cooking shows, and location recordings. You will help plan the setup, run cameras and sound during the shoot, and hand over footage that the editor can work with.

Apply for this role

What you will do

  • Review the episode plan and location, prepare a shot list and equipment checklist, and identify any additional crew or equipment needed.
  • Set up and test cameras, microphones, lighting, recording media, power, and framing before the host and guests begin.
  • Monitor focus, exposure, audio levels, and recording status during the session; identify when a retake is necessary.
  • Capture the agreed supporting shots, such as food preparation, details, or location footage that will help the editor tell the story.
  • Back up camera and audio files, label them by session and device, and hand over notes on takes, synchronization, and technical issues.

What we are looking for

  • Practical experience recording interviews, podcasts, food content, or similar productions.
  • Working knowledge of cameras, microphones, lighting, and reliable file backups.
  • Calm troubleshooting and clear communication with hosts and guests. Be specific about which crew functions you can cover; owning equipment is not required.

Who you will work with

Plan each shoot with the founder or host, and coordinate guest logistics with the partnerships team. During recording, take responsibility for the agreed technical setup; afterward, hand the footage and notes to the editor.

An example assignment

Prepare a two-person interview: check the location, propose camera and microphone placement, record a test, and monitor the session. Deliver backed-up, labeled recordings with synchronization information and notes on any problems.

With your application

  • Two recordings and your technical responsibilities on each.
  • Your city, equipment you can access, day rate, and availability. Tell us what equipment or crew would need to be arranged.

Shoot dates, location, crew responsibilities, equipment, travel costs, and fees are agreed for each recording. This is an on-site production role, not a remote editing position.
